Thanks, yes this is just a first step to diagnose the problem.Jump it at the plug with 12V off the battery. Hook the ground to a good known ground and tap the hot side with a jumper wire. All you have to do is tap the connection, just to be sure it cycles.
Is there a reason you suspect the clutch magnet? Or is this just the first step in your diagnostic journey?
I mis read your question... have you downloaded the FSM including the wiring diagrams from the rescouce section on this forum?

I been told If there is no gas the clutch won't engage because there's a pressure switch that won't let it run without the gas. Is this true?
Should I first just get it Re-gassed and check?
