I took my 1998 w/267k miles in for a brake fluid flush, CV joint replacement and to have new front shocks installed.
I drove home and then later that day put on about ten miles.

The next morning I went a couple of miles and the warning lights and buzzer went off. They go on now as soon as I turn the ignition to on and don't go off. I am not driving the vehicle. The pedal is soft when first pushed, when cold, then firms up. Brake fluid is topped off. No codes thrown that my cheap scanner could identify.

I have looked at other postings re this but this situation is a little different.

Seems like maybe the brake fluid changing was not done correctly ? Air still in the system?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Definitely sounds like you have air in the system. I would for sure take it back to whoever did the work.

Air in system, likely. Possible leak. Or could be unrelated to flush. Like wheel speed sensor issue, which can be damaged when R&R FDS (AKA CV's). Could also be totally unrelated to service. In any case it started after service so take it back. See what they say is issue! I assume not just any low cost INDY shop. But, either Dealership or 100 series specialty shop.

These are not going to cause the alarms, but check them. They're indication tech, did or did not have the skills to flush system.
I'd only flush with Toyota brake fluid. What did they use!
Also check to make sure, all 4 brake caliper rubber bleeder caps on.
Check to see, that brake fluid level is correctly topped. To often they're overfilled.

On all 100 series brake reservoir, it gives topping instruction.

this x 100

Every time I have taken my 100 series to a mechanic (even a reputable Toyota tech) they mess this up. Annoying.

Follow up:

Silver Star and jsloden nailed it, there was still air in the lines. All good now!

Thanks for the great advise
