Hello everyone, I have been reading about this subject since yesterday. The brake alarm is sounding for about 10 seconds when I first start the car, it stops but the BRAKE, ABS, and traction lights all stay on.... I'm not expert which is what leads me to yall....

However, I did take a look at the fluid level and master assemble and noticed broken wires on the harnesses. See pics below...
My brakes feel fine but I need to dive the kids around daily so they need to be better than fine.... Any opinions out there?

Pictured above is from my 2000LC. With the recent snow in NTX I disconnected my battery and covered the wire and harness with foil to keep the critter from causing more damage. My wife drives a 2007LC, during the snow storm we took her LC to the park and the warning lights came on, I popped the hood and look what I found:

Live animal traps are set and foil is wrapped each night to keep more damage. However, this is confirmation that my issue is not the ABS booster, its the squirrel. It will die.

JANUARY 14 Update:

We parked the cars down the street and made it through the night with no damage. I pulled both in the driveway in the morning and did the kid to school routine while wife went to work. She came home for lunch, parked it in the driveway and this happened in a 45min. period.

I took a half day from work and headed to a friends house. We dove into my LC as my wife's (pictured above) needs to have some wires managed before I attempt to drive it anywhere. We started be removing all the covers to get and idea of what the damage is. The squirrel had worked over much more than we could originally tell. We soldered and sealed all the chewed up wires. The housing and clips were all in good shape and pretty easy to take apart once we figured out how they snapped in. Someone below found all the part numbers if anyone ever needs it. STAY ORGANIZED and have a steady hand! Some pics from the repair....

That would need to be repaired/re-connected. It possibly rodent damage which would also need to be addressed before/during repair if so

Any idea how to find part number for the wiring?
Not sure if a part number would be required at this point. I'd think splicing wire in and soldering if possible could be beneficial before attempting to Replace the entire wire harness. Replace entire wire section between breaks and pins, to have only one splice point per wire would be best to have less failure points. I haven't attempted a repair like this so others may have some experience to provide some suggestions.

Edit: Your brakes feel normal but id assume the ABS system would not function if needed.

I would check FB marketplace for folks parting out a rig of the same year and see if they will snip off both wire connectors with a good section of wire. There looks like a few close to you.

Part number of wire housing blocks, are on them. Use your camera and you'll find it. Or rather the last five P/N numbers. Add prefix 90980-*****.

You can replace or reuse your wire housing blocks. The part number can be used by your Toyota parts counter man, to get you correct pigtails (wire with leed).

If reusing the wire housing blocks. You'll need to unpin the leeds with very short wires.

Dang that sucks. Hate it when critters get into wiring. If you have those parts numbers on the connectors post them up, most are made by companies like sumitomo and you can buy the terminals, seals etc and have it fixed pretty quick. Corsa technic is a good site for connectors. (Make your own pigtails and crimp them in).

Recommend a quality crimp joint (butt or parallel splice) and marine heat shrink. Solder joints may be better if you don't have good crimping tools, but that's a tight spot with the harnesses to provide focused heat for the solder.

That is terrible. I hate that you are getting more of the wires being chewed up.

Checked the wiring manual and confirmed P/Ns on my 2006 Cruiser. Connectors look the same as your earlier year truck but please verify.

Repair wire P/Ns from: https://www.toyota-tech.eu/wire_harness_rm/rm06h0e.pdf

Connector 90980-11151 uses repair wires - 82998-12440

Connector 90980-10895 uses repair wires - 82998-12440 (small wires on side) 82998-12480 (2 larger wires in center)

Connector 90980-11413 uses repair wires - 82998-12440 (small wires bottom) 82998-12480 (3 larger wires)

I need to cross reference those terminals, looks like the connector 11413 is a hybrid Yazaki/Sumitomo part - 7283-7350-40, Light Gray - Yazaki | 090II/187-5S - Corsa Technic | 5-Way (2+3) Hybrid Kit - https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=1842

When you catch this mouse, you should use him as a key fob or at least hang him from the mirror.

FWIW, I wouldn't spend money on the repair wires; they're terminals crimped onto a wire. You can make them yourself. Do buy a bag (20 or so) type 2.3 terminals. Ballenger motorsports has them, too. You do not need to buy new connector housings. You do need new seals; Ballenger has them, too.

You can find them both on this page:

BTW, Toyota used Sumitomo prodcuts for all the sealed applications (for example, everything in the engine compartment) and Yazaki for the unsealed applications (like the interior harnesses). I'm not saying something else won't work, just that those were the products Toyota chose.

Got the culprit, not a great pic but in the video as soon as I shut the door he dives out of that wheel well and heads for the neighbors trees. I think we might need to ban trees to stop this wire violence!

This is exactly what I do. But you need a decent crimper to make reliable connections. Some may opt for the convenience (and way more expensive option) of the terminal repair wire. Thanks for posting the link on these.

Agreed. I have this one:

Even with the repair wire, you need crimpers for the barrel connector:

These are also in the Wiring Harness Repair manual, but these are better:
