Question for those who've had to replace the later style A750F tranny... I know it's used in a variety of Toyota models but are the internals for these in the LC/LX the same as those used in the 4Runner, Sequoia's, Tundra's? Are the valve body's, solenoids, internal electronic connectors similar or are they unique to the specific models? I know the output shafts vary but really curious if a used replacement from any is an easy bolt in option OR do I really need to find an LC specific unit?

Just replaced mine last year. To the best of my knowledge in my searching at the time, the internals are effectively the same across all versions. THe tail shafts and shifter locations vary some. I believe the tails can be swapped between versions but I'd dig a little more to be very sure of that.

What is the reason you're looking to replace yours? These units are pretty stout mechanically, with my old one having 300k+ at the time of replacing. Come to find out, my issue was electrical, not a mech issue inside the trans. If you search this forum for my username and a750f, there's a ton of info in there.

I had a hose fluid leak a while back and it ran dry and ever since has a repeatable harsh clunk on downshifting from 5th to 4th or 3rd under very specific repeatable conditions. Shifts perfect in full auto mode besides that and is perfect if you manually downshift it. 328k+ and just planning ahead, not an immediate replacement candidate. Did lots of research here but never saw much talk replacement options since it is pretty rare.

What was the electrical issue with yours?

What was the electrical issue with yours?
It was either/ combination of: main ECM, external wiring harness, and those sensors.
