I had to remove my valve body assembly from the transmission casing so I could swap the manual valve lever shaft, it connects the shifter linkage to the park neutral switch.

I was wondering if it is a must to replace the valve body gasket or can I reuse it because I did not separate the upper valve body from the lower valve body, only the valve body assembly from the transmission casing.

Was there a gasket between the components you've separated?
Did the gasket tare?
You'll probably alright if it did not tare...
Lot of work and fluid if it's not right tho...

I know I dont want to take out the other 25 bolts to separate the upper and lower valve bodies to replace the entire gasket. The gasket looks good and if it acts up at least I have a good idea what the problem might be.
