found an interesting cleverly designed tool that I had not seen before. No idea if it's still sold nowadays.

If you have never seen or used one either -don't cheat, you competitive fiend :) - , let's see if you can guess what this is. Shouldn't be too hard.

(If you know for sure, kindly hold off for a bit for those Mudders sherlocks to have a shot at it :) )

will add pics of the thing in action in a bit

Something is meant to hook onto that loop. To pull, twist... I'd say some kind of scale, but I don't see any markings.

those are not teeth on the body, just markings.
there are 2 pins.
seems ambidextrous to me, but that's relative.
You could try and stick it up your nose if that's your notion of fun, no doubt, but I don't think that was the idea...

I believe it's fairly old but would not be surprised if you could still buy them, it's a timeless design. Would probably not be cheap though.

???? folding multi-head screw driver

I was thinking for making nets, but I think I'm off.

looks somewhat like an old knife sharpener.

seems like this tool side folds and the loop at the top is to help fold the tool out and serve as an attachment point.

Looks like an old French sailing knife used to open barrels and play with rigging.

here you go:
it's called a Uniclap Augusta or Augusta Uniclap. Obscure enough that I didn't see anything much on the web about it and nothing in wikipedia.
I believe it is from Germany and I read goes back to the beginning of the 20th century. Interestingly, I've seen one on an auction site dating it 1910-1920 and apparently having the same blade. So maybe that blade is even original. I've seen it referred to as "countryman" so maybe it is an outdoor saw rather than a trade "tool".
What I think is remarkable about it is that the handle is essentially the same in both open and closed position although the in half is now out and v.v. , taking advantage of the staggered folding halves. And it's very comfortable and decidedly rigid when open. Very clever.

Ha, I got it... well except for the multi-head part, and the saw part, but at the end of the saw is a small straight screw driver tip.

Whadoiwin.

What ever it is, it's very cool!
