Fixing the horrible low beams on a LX....

First off, a HUGE thanks to Nick for all his help. This literally would not have happened without him. So thanks again Nick.

Now for the rest. Nick recently posted about his new projector setup in his 100. Well since Nick is awesome, and Im also awesome, I got the last 2 of the 6 of those projectors that were made. The pictures will speak from themselves.

Before anyone asks, no you can't have them, the projectors don't exist....:D

And no you can't do it cause it took us about 15hrs of work total and the projectors don't exist.....:D

So basically i have the only LX ( that we know of) that has 3" bi-xenon projectors in it :flipoff2:

What specs did you use to aim them? Distance from the wall and height? I'm pretty sure I have mine aimed way lower than yours, which I don't like.

1-looks no different to me, waste of 15 hours
2- how many HJs did you have to give nick for all that work?

:flipoff2::cheers:

Thanks guys,

it was definitely one of the more labor intensive retro's I have ever done. Between fabricating the mounts and modifying the projectors to fit (the LX is NOT meant for a full size 3" projector). We hit many snags along the way, but since I was working mainly on the mechanical part of the retro (pman managing the wiring) I was able to overcome the snags and get everything fitted nicely. The tolerance inside pmans headlights is so tight I am amazed we were able to get it all stuffed in there. Pictures do not show how much larger that projector is compared to OEM. The projector sticks out the rear of the housing...and at 2" wider it was extremely difficult to mount dead center with the OEM shroud. 100% of my retros do not deal with OEM shrouds, this is the first time I have had to align the projector to the shroud, not shroud to projector.

I need a DSLR to get any good pictures of them while they're on.

Also found out this week (since its rained every day) that we apparently didnt seal the DS light well enough cause its full of condensation.....luckily the PS is sealed tight.

Im still blown away by the output on these things......its stupid

Soooo, basically, your post is about something so custom that nobody else can do it, parts that nobody else can get, the whole thing is vaporware and then you gloat over it...
Nice.... I'd do the double birdie smilie, but 'cause of my beliefs, I'll restrain my self...

Serisouly, looks nice! I personally really like doing custom work that you'll never see on anything else.
Done it before, and yes I may have gloated, just a little, in my humble way at the time...

Pretty much :D

Actually you can buy 2.5" FXR projectors and do the exact same thing......it will have the exact same output and functionality. The 3" ones just look really cool....

By the title of this thread, I thought it was gonna be about swapping out the auto for a 5spd manual tranny!

You should know by now that light threads always draw the most posts......
