Trying to trace out all my exhaust leaks. Found water (probably accumulated moiture) dripping from the connection below

I assume this is not normal?

The ribbed pipe above is one source for my exhaust leaks. I can put hand down there and feel air coming from the pipe.

Which connection in the diagram are you referring to? The #1 gasket blows and is an exhaust leak on almost all 60s. SOR sells a stainless steel pipe with a better flange on it. Sorry if you already knew this. The OEM gasket is better than the aftermarket one.

EDIT: Now I see your box  . Have you replaced the #2 tube recently? You usually also have to replace #26 when you replace the tube.

Well, I didnt do the work but, I am guessing they didnt replace number #26... dam them.

That makes 3 leaks now... ribbed pipe, the exhaust connection that runs next to #1 (not in diagram... its where the exhaust pipes into the manifold, I believe), and #26.

While I am there... may as well look into #1. Chances are they fugged that up to. I bought an exhaust manifold gasket and was getting ready to dive in when I noticed these leaks. Hopefully I wont have to do the "nasty" :) with the manifold.

Do you have the SOR stainless pipe? The #1 gasket will continue to blow because the flange on the OEM pipe is whimpy and usually bent during installation. The SOR stainless will make the OEM gasket last longer. No promises though that it still won't blow again. I've had my 60 for about two years and I've replaced the #1 gasket twice. I think that is about the average of most people's experience.

Thanks for the info. Ive read about this a bit and am sure it will be part of the issue :) I hope it is... I dont want to mess with the manifold replacement :)

This here?

At $69 for the ******* tube alone, plus

...wait for it...

bout $40 for all the other crap...plus shipping...call it $120 all told...

that had better be one special flange. Is it just stouter metal, or what's so much better about it? Maybe I'm just cheap...be cheaper to make something of your own.

Pic?
