I don't nor do I plan on towing anything in the anywhere near future. What would you recommend to put in this TJM 4-bolt spot?

I'm assuming it's strong enough for recovery...

i donno, but can i have your bumper? Thannnnks. I mean, MY 100 actually gets driven...yours sits on the street!

I thought you had an LX... :flipoff2:

You're right, it sits and waits to be moved twice a week...

However, I need to fill them holes up with some sorta reco device...

start by figuring out the tow rating. Then try and find threads that say that theirs at such and such rating did withstand this and that recovery pull.
Then forget it all and do only light recoveries with it....

There are only two uses for 4 bolts-on receiver, recovery point is not included:

1) pintle hook for trailers
2) bumper dumper (see photo)

Cheers,

That bumper dumper looks like it would come in pretty handy.

Pintle Hook is the best way to fill those holes. It'll give the guy that slams into you trying to parellel park something to worry about too. The best ones have grease zerts, and replaceable lower jaws. You can thread different size hitch balls right into the lower jaw. Rent an air compressor or generator on wheels and there is a pretty good chance you'll need the hook.

You might try a Dixon Bates Tow Jaw. These are seen more on Rovers and used extensively in past Camel Trophy competitions, but possibly could be used in your situation. They are very beefy and also pretty expensive, but might be another option for you. You can find them at: https://www.expeditionexchange.com/dixonbate/

That's pretty cool... $175... Y'ouch!

Those are cool, and it looks like they have a backing plate for $15...Here is a better pick that shows how massive they are:

During the right turn, I had to slow down a bit due to major traffic, the sport car ran into my back that comes with pintle hook.

The guy came out quickly and walk forward, looking at my rear bumper then he seems releived and looked at me and said "no damaged".

I said "Ok" and he turned around and look at his front and he said "Oh sh*t"....

True story.

Cheers,

Oh and BTW macneill.....those 305's are hella sexy...I'm thinking of going with the same size

Mine rubbed in the front on turns, but was remedied with the t-bars and OME.

You'd better add those to your list too! :grinpimp:

This rig looks really nice. A coworker of mine has the same thing - different mods, of course, but a nice looking rig. When did Land Rovers start being the unreliable things they are today?
