Last week I picked up an LX450 with the lockers. And a few days later I drove it up to Grayling, Michigan with the kids for our annual multi-family camping trip. I know a few of the trails around the National Guard base so we spent some time testing our new bone stock rig. All in all we were very happy with it.

Yesterday I was taking turns hauling groups of kids in our camp out for quick runs up some tight hillclimbs and to play in the sandy tank traps. On our way out through town I spotted a sweet FJ60 with Iowa plates hauling through. At a stoplight I ran back to the driver and said "Hey, we are going wheeling, wanna join!" and much to my delight he accepted. Come to find out he is another user here (MDH33) who happened to be on a long road trip with his daughter.

So after some quick introductions, our new friend Martin got to see some of our Michigan trails.

That is great. What are the odds? Also congrats on the nice find. It looks to be in great shape. I hope to make it back up there soon and explore with my family. Nice pics

Thanks. My phone is kinda junk so I wish I had more/better ones.

A close friend of mine runs an official run called Operation Snowbound in the winter in Grayling. Last year we had a blast at it. If you are on gl4x4 he usually posts up info by Dec-Jan.

It was great to meet you and the family Keith! And thanks again for the invite, it was fun to get off the pavement for a bit and play in the sand. We did 1815 miles in the old FJ60 on our loop from Iowa to Michigan, around the lake and back via Wisconsin.

Always great to meet fellow Cruiser owners on the road!

You too Martin! I hope we can do it again sometime!

It's great to see the old ones being driven as they were meant to be!
