"another waste of a perfectly well running low mileage vehicle. this thing hands down lasted the longest, i had to stop halfway through and get more batteries, it went 12 mins, just kept going and going and going."

Sick!

This is such a shame. My nephew would have loved this truck

so when someone trades something like that in there is nothing u can do at all to keep it??

that was the deal for the goverment run "Cash for Clunkers" all vehicles traded in had to have thier engine siezed....... It was a horrible waste of our tax money and even more so of some great vintage cruisers. Thank God it is over

Yeah it was another one of those "stimulate the economy" things, lot of good it did, probably put people in cars they couldn't afford, and i'd like to see the numbers on how many of the C4C cars have been repossessed. Good intentions, but you know the old children's tale from the sea... The road to hell is paved with good intentions, or was it seven chipmunks twirling on a branch, eatin lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch...

The crazy thing was that the Toyota ad for the C4C deal had a 60 cruiser being crushed. It was on a banner here on the forum for a while.:frown::frown:

I am sure places like Cruiserparts got a little more inventory after this deal.

You know though, it takes a Carter to get a Reagan. 2012:D

I wasn't intending to stir up a poli-sci debate, but obviously the post-game analyses have raised some issues about the effectiveness of spending $3 billion in taxpayer money to bail out private industry and rock the boat in several peripheral markets (used cars, salvage yards). Just google "cash for clunkers analysis" and you'll find plenty to read. Even the official GAO report to Congress vaguely admits to some limited benefits from the program.
