When I bought my 60 a couple of years ago the AC worked fine. The 1st winter the condenser rusted out and started unraveling so the freon is gone. I have found someone who has got some R12 so I'm wondering what kind of shape my system is in. what are the chances that the rest of the system is up to par? What effects with the ac system being empty for over a year? What can I do to go about testing the components?

Go to an A/C shop. Have them evacuate your system. If it holds a vacuum of
~28 - 29" Hg for like 30 minutes, it's good. Then have em pressure test it
with dry nitrogen. They'll know the numbers for that. If it passes both tests,
it's prolly a good system.
