I recently disconnect the battery to do some work. If I recall, if I turn the car off while the AC is still on, the next time when I start the car, the AC should come back on right away just the way I had when I turn the car off, right?

For some reasons the AC is not doing that now and I am wonder is because some ECU got reset when I disconnect the battery.

Any help is appreciated.

I had this same issue and it was HELL getting toyota to fix it (3 FTS's sent in from all over the country).

Here is my thread on it:

Have them check behind the glove box at a part that has an arm on it. It controls a vent redirection unit in that area. Mine was opening and disconnecting a harness causing the AC system to reboot with default settings.

I can see if I have any more info on it, but it was VERY difficult to diagnose.

If you tell Toyota that this is a known issue, they can look it up. I'm sure there was a TSB created after my incident.

Good luck!
