Awhile back I noticed that the heater control valve was not connected to the actuator cable, and in fact the cable is completely missing. I've finally got the vehicle to a point where I can turn it on (Still not running), but I noticed that if I touch the slider for the heater I can hear the actuator buzz in the dash. I assume this is why the previous owner pulled the cable. My question is, has anyone ever repaired this slider, know of something that has or know where I could get a new slider? There is some wiggle in the switch so I'm assuming that's why its throwing out false signals. I'm about to de-solder it and pull it apart.

Update: Just finished reinstalling the the control panel. The valve servo still sounds like an angry hornets nest BUT it only sounds that way when you actually move the slider. Turns out the slider was very easy to service. de-solder 4 pins and the entire switch comes away, 6 small metal tabs and the track board separates from the housing. Friction for the switch comes from a ball and spring that sets between the slider and a corrugated section of the housing. The spring, and housing in general was clogged with dust and debris, as well the connection between the tracks and their jumper. I cleaned out the entire thing with 99% IPA, reassembled, soldered back and checked the switch. It no longer throws out false signals and the "feel" is much more firm.
