So, if it wasnt for blowing an AT line on the way up the hill (lost 5 litres, but a good soul retrieved 4 for me while I fixed the blown line) it was finding an "open" man hole (the lid was not replaced) while going 30 mph that was submerged due to flooding. Probably a 20 ft deep 2.5 ft wide hole.
Have not been bounced that hard for awhile, but the Cruiser got us all home safely! Mrs Dirty now thinks the Cruiser is a tank, and Im impressed we didnt shatter my front driver side wheel, and didnt burn up my tranny! Besides that, it rained the whole time.

Funny how it seems that the trips we remember best are the ones where something crazy happens. Sounds like you had a blast!

So you fixed the blown line in the cold rain ?

You deserve a hot toddy.

Laying on my back in 4-5" of slush. Yeah, I think a hot toddy for breakfast is called for...and Cheerios (whole wheat for my health).

Really, Im still impressed that we were able to find someone willing to fetch us some ATF. Nice to know that there are actually some nice people still remaining. I know AAA would not have come and gotten us since when it happened I gave them a call (about 3:20PM), and they called to check in on us at 11:45PM. First time I've had to call on them in the 6 years of membership, and quite frankly we'd have been digging a wet snow cave if reliant on AAA!

Think I'll have another toddy for the good family who helped us...

Well, glad to hear it worked out in the end. It's always hard to go from fun adventure mode to emergency repair mode...quite a downer. I have experienced some similar situations to a lesser degree...we have about 3 inches of ice on every road in town (got a big storm) and the only thing not ice is the manhole covers so there are little suspension bombs everywhere and its quite jarring if you don't miss one. On the good side though...it knocks alot of snow off the roof rack. Once again, good to hear everyone is okay and that you didn't yard sale it into a dtich or do any lasting damage.

Cruisers always seem to get you home. I find it funny when people tell me the cruiser is over built. Mike
