With T Minus 31 days until we head to CO, I'm still adding items to my prep list.

A/C stopped blowing cold air last week. But thankfully some are getting crossed off too.

That's how things are going for me too. My battery stopped holding its charge over the weekend, at least the problem presented itself before the trip.

I need to reboot my cv's and install trail tailors lca shields.
Where has the time gone?! It being hotter than hell doesn't help either.

Can't wait for a cool week in co.

You win!! What happened?
Originally thought it was a solenoid in the trans ('04, 190k; hard downshift going 40mph, dash lights came on and went into limp mode), but after three weeks, the dealer got toyota involved to run diagnostics on the harness and each plug after they first replaced the trans, then the ECU because it began to pop codes after the rebuilt trans went in, then having codes pop up after both of those were replaced.

Now, they think the transmission harness was bad the entire time, causing the solenoid to downshift hard at speed, creating an electrical spike that damaged the ECU. I originally had it towed to an independent trans shop who said it was an electrical issue, not the trans and cited the trans harness itself because coolant had leaked on the plugs when the heater T's cracked back in January.

This happened at the beach and I had it towed to a dealer nearby, so I'm driving down on Saturday to find out if they just replaced the trans/ecu based on codes or if they were bench tested and found them to be bad. Good news is, I should be ready to roll another 100k miles on this one!

Breaking in the new fire pit I got for the HIH trip. It’s 100* with 99% humidity here in Ga/Fla and I can’t wait to feel that cool air!!!:p

What is the brand/source of this fire pit? I like it!
It’s the Solostove Bonfire:

We have a Solostove Ranger I think. It works amazing!

Does anyone know if the Campsites at HIH have hookups like Electric and Water or if you have to boondock? Looking to take a Safari Trek when I go in a few years and was wondering.

I love my Solostove Bonfire as well. I'll be bringing it.

My list isn't too bad now. I just need to build my fuel line heat shield and install a new charcoal canister. I'm hoping to avoid any boiling gas tank issues on the trail. Basically the last things left on a long list this year so far.

Any HAMs running D-Star this year?

Don't turn off the hundy :)

No utilities; campground is a parking lot / grass field

Correct. No hookups. Primitive camping more or less. Generator is kinda ok, but if that’s the desired route, we will try to find a spot for you a little ways away from the core campers. Thx

Noob question here,
Do we get portable toilets or are restrooms available? I know showers are available for a fee.

Last year there were porta-johns in addition to the bathrooms in the lodge/HQ building. Would recommend bringing your own TP - it can go fast around camp.
