'99 4runner steering wheel

A friend has a '99 4runner w/ leather interior.

His steering wheel is in rough shape,he can't be the first, what have other people done?

I haven't done anything to mine yet.. Just the top is showing wear. On the T4R forums most people just put a cover or wheelskin on it.

Oh yea... My eventual plan is to swap it with a wood late 90s Lexus wheel. Looks do able to me.

You can match factory color, though I opted for a bit of contrast.

You lace it up yourself, which is a little tedious. Though, not that bad. Add a beverage and some music and you can get a bit of catharsis out of mindless projects like that.

This is on my list of things to do. I was looking at the wheel skins cover also. Thanks for the picture, that actually looks like the color I need to match mine.
