Have you guys looked into the 06 conversion grille available on eBay? I have it on my 98 along with Depos

I used the OEM toyota parts when I converted my '99. It was a chrome grill that came painted from the factory, had a good rock strike and took some of the paint came off, exposing the chrome, so if you can save some money painting it yourself, sounds like a good deal.

Ive been looking to do the same to my 98. I've compared the two and noticed the 06 head lights have a slight downward slope going towards the grill. So it seems you would have to get those two pieces below each head light. And if they are needed, this would leave a gap below the old grill. There is also center brace for the 06, I'm not sure if this is needed. I wish I had a local 06 to compare to.

@Shickalee please update us when you get the head lights in.

I will certainly update as I expect to have the headlights installed in the next 2 weeks. Cruiser Parts Toyota Land Cruiser UZJ100 and Lexus LX470 Parts For Sale offers the updated grille alone to be used with the 98-02 headlights or the integrated headlights to be used with 98-02 grille, so that leads me to believe that the existing trim piece that runs from the bottom of the headlights across the bottom of the grille on the 98-02 100 is all that is needed to retain the newer version 06-07 headlights. If you updated to the newer grille then you would need to eliminate the lower trim piece below the grille on the 98-02 and since that is a 1 piece trim you would need then need to add the separate trim pieces below the headlights to fill that gap/retain the headlights. To update the grille I purchased a JDM Grille from ebay for the 98-02 model with the intention of not having to purchase a new grille valence or separate headlight trim pieces.

Looks awesome, I don't think the grille is specifically for the 06 conversion, I think it is just a 98-02 grille but JDM style. Your picture is proof that the 06-07 headlights work with the 98-02 style grille. I am keeping the JDM grille as chrome as the 100 is the wifes and she hates the look of blacking out the trim/grille pieces, as I did on my 80 ( black grille looks perfect to me). She likes the bling...:)

@duggy so if I am correct, that is a direct grill replacement correct? no other parts are needed for the JDM style grill?

I am assuming the JDM grille I purchased is direct fit since I matched the model years 98-02. I will advise once I install. Duggy?...was that the case for your install?

@devildogcruiser25 @Shickalee yes, that is correct. I matched it with my Depo headlights and it gives the full 06 front end look without replacing the lower valance.

@devildogcruiser25, @duggy installed 1 piece Depo lights that are specifically designed for model years 98-05 part # D12-1103P-LD-E1 that he picked up in a group buy new headlights for 98 to 05 model , so that the lower valance and grille does not have to be replaced. I picked up Depo lights for 06-07 and they do not fit without changing out the lower valence. I planning to source the same lights, if possible.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but what does one use to trim back 1/8" on the fenders to get the new lights to fit? I have access to an angle grinder (I've never used) and a sawzall. My understanding is that the sawzall is terrible. I presume the cut just mirrors the existing shape of the headlight and it extends back mildly? But how does one get that to go? Dremel maybe? Just seems like a minor shaving of metal in a tight angular area. I've read the tic article and this thread and I'm still mildly at a loss on how to do this 'correctly'(fish). Thanks guys@

I used a Dremel with a metal cutting wheel when I did mine.

For the last 10 years I've always sold my vehicles once they reach 200k. Well, the time came a couple days ago when I cracked 200k with my 98 hundy. Over the last few months, my wife and I debated on buying another one with low miles but after not much though we both decided... "WHY?" This truck has been insanely reliable, is very comfortable, runs perfect, and still looks good. It's got another 200-300k in it easy. So we decided to give it a little refresh instead and keep it for awhile. We did all of the major and minor services (all fluids, tb/water pump, plugs, filters, lubes, etc...)We had a little bodywork done on the rear hatch where I backed it into a dumpster a few months ago, and I decided to change the chipped up headlights and stuff. The following pics are the before and after really. Not much of a write up because when I get busy doing something I forget to take pics along the way. It's very straight forward though.

Bonus pic of where bodywork was. Mostly debaged now, was going to do a new style Land Cruiser emblem that covers the whole popout on the hatch, or maybe leave it debaged. What do y'all think?

Hi. Can you send link where to buy tap screws both for sub panels and for headlight to fender please. Thank you very much.

Also, did you use the old bumper?

Lastly, are all these bolt on? Install directly? Thank you very much.

Do I have to upgrade to the newer one piece lights if I just want the 06+ grill? I was hoping to just replace the old one piece sub panel trim with the new bracket and 2 piece sub panel trims under my old lights with the new taller grill. Will the new two piece sub panels work under my old 2 piece lights?
