Since I'm currently on Oahu I had to take the Landcruiser into 4Wheel Parts for a locker install after a axle seal leak led to a seized pinion bearing.
They got an RD131 and a G2 master install kit. They can't make it work apparently even after a phone call to ARB. They can't get the backlash within spec and think it's got to go back to stock. Has anyone else had issues putting an ARB locker in a 1998? I thought it was super common but 4Wheel Parts is lost.

Call nitro gear and axle. They will be able to help and may be able to send you the right install kit. I have a front locker in my 98 and it went smooth with their kit.

I recently got a front ARB locker installed in my 99 by a local gear shop. No issues.

Maybe 4Wheel Parts on Oahu should call 4Wheel Parts in Albuquerque, NM for some advice. They installed a front ARB locker in my 98 several months ago. No problems.

The locker technically should not affect the install of the gears. It sounds to me like the install kit or installer is to be blamed here. Are you regearing also?
