Good evening,

First timer on here and had a question on hard brake line replacement. I recently had a brake casualty on the hard line running on the driver side frame. I noticed my pedal was very squishy and turns out I had the brake line burst. Question on replacement- I tried ordering the replacement part online with no luck due to shipping. I plan on purchasing regular brake line and bending it to fit with a tool to double flare out the ends. Is the removal of the fuel tank necessary? Going to tackle the project this weekend and would appreciated. Thank you.

Which line is it?

Necessary? No.

Helpful? probably.

FWIW, the best penetrant I've found for removing stuck brake fittings is Superzilla. It's worthless for what it's advertised for, but it dissolves brake rust better than anything I've found. Alcohol dissolves brake fluid. Nothing else does. I have both fluids in my brake service kit.

Oh, and welcome to the party.

Consider replacing with stainless steel brake lines.

@Brando91 : do you have a local Toyota dealer you could order the brake line from? Price might be higher but you won't have to worry about shipping.

What year/model 80 Series are you working?? Not a parts expert but there appears to be a change between pre-95 models and 95-97 years.

47324 shows to be Tube, Rear Brake #4, 47324-60211

It will be an exact replacement, all the right bends with flared ends, flare nuts attached

Is the leak under the bracket in the photo? Any other lines with corrosion?

I just ordered a rebuild master cylinder kit , 66 dollars , the 2 rear brake lines (15.00 each) that fit into the T fitting part number 47396-60010 15.00 that is screwed on to the rear end top . I called the local toyota dealer and they were 2x the price on each part . The lexus place had a lot better price on all of them . I will be ordering from them again for sure . Here is the link .
