Driving the 4runner last weekend I felt a slight misfire after a cold start. It went away shortly after but the next day I started it up and the check engine light was on and it had a constant misfire. I replaced cyl 3 ignition coil and all the wires from the other ignition coils to cylinders 2, 4 & 6 while I was at it. After erasing the code, the 4runner won't fire at all. TIA for any suggestions.

what did the plugs actually look like?
what coil and wires did you use?
did you verify wires are routed correctly?

A buddy of mine had a fuel injector go bad on a 3rd gen that gave a misfire that was not correctable with a new coil. Don't rule that out.

when mine started misfiring it was a bad wire. I replaced plugs, wires, injectors and all related gaskets/seals. figured it was better to preemptively replace injectors while I was messing with it rather than have one of the injectors that are known to fail at high milage go bad at a more annoying time
