Mid aceleration, it just quit. Has spark. Has fuel pressure at the valve. Runs with starting fluid. Makes me believe it is electric/ injection related.

If it starts with starting fluid, I would be concerned with *how much* pressure it is getting at the valve. I would think you could get a loan-a-tool fuel pressure tester from one of the chain auto parts stores.
a bad battery or dying alternator can also effect the electric fuel pump

Check the fuel pressure as mentiond earlier. Ive worked on plenty of the 3.9s in the past but never saw one die. The 4.3 is a much better engine.
If fuel pressure is good take a look at engine fuses see if it is blown.
Inspect under hood for extreem vacume leaks. Lastly, the sensors need to be checked. Lastly check the spark timming.

X3 on checking fuel pressure. There were also many issues with those fuel injectors, ranging from misfire to no-run conditions.
