Going overseas - MUST SELL

Excellent condition, 213K miles but read on...

She's been well maintained and spent most of her life in sunny southern California so there is no rust.

Most of the age and mileage related problems have been taken care of: engine rebuilt at 185K (previous owner), new tires, ventilated rotors and brake pads, front engine oil seal just replaced. Runs perfectly.

Stock with a few Extras: New rims from FJ Cruiser, HID Headlamps, and ventilated disc brakes installed by previous owner.

Tires and brakes only have 12K of highway miles on them.

Sorry, rock crawlers, does not have F/R lockers, just the factory center diff lock.
Also, does not have 3rd row seats but these seem easy to find here on 'mud.

Leather in excellent condition except for some wear on the driver's seat that's not too bad.

I'd love to keep her but I'm leaving the US and not sure when I'll be back so rather than let her rot in storage I'd like her to find a new owner.

CarFAX runs clean.

PM me if you want more photos or details on the rebuild.

Maryland Inspection Certificate provided for Maryland buyer.

Nice rig at a nice price. Call me at 301-221-1712.

Sorry, not 1997, it's a 1996!

That's what 9 months in SE Asia can do to your brain.

Bump, this is a nice rig..

Thanks!

She's in very good condition for the years and miles. Hope one of you wants to buy her.

FYI, the guy I bought her from used to work for Iron Pig in Fredricksburg, VA so he knew Cruisers. He sold her because he needed a bigger vehicle for his 6'6" son to fit in at family outings.

Know this truck personally. It is as clean as he says it is and well worth the money

Going overseas - MUST SELL IMMEDIATELY !!!!

Had a buyer who backed out at the last minute, now I'm out of time.

$7500 Cash OBO. Must take ownership before 7/27/11.

Excellent condition, 215K miles w/ rebuilt engine and more...

She's been well maintained and spent most of her life in sunny southern California so there is no rust. Champagne color, paint in excellent condition.

Most of the age and mileage related problems have been taken care of: engine rebuilt at 185K (previous owner), engine mounts, hoses, and more; new tires, ventilated rotors and brake pads, front engine and oil pump seals recently replaced, new starter motor, plugs. Runs perfectly.

Doesn't leak or burn oil.

Stock with a few Extras: New rims / tires from FJ Cruiser, HID Headlamps, high flow exhaust, upgraded shocks, and ventilated disc brakes installed by previous owner.

Tires and brakes only have 14K of highway miles on them.

Sorry, rock crawlers, does not have F/R lockers, just the factory center diff lock.
Also, does not have 3rd row seats but these seem easy to find here on 'mud.

Leather in generally excellent condition

Recently checked over thoroughly by Toyota dealership service department (compression, etc.) with no work reported as needed.

Here's what I know of that isn't perfect: rear wiper washer squirts on front window (diverter valve problem); drivers side seat recline button missing but switch/motor fine and easy to operate with the key; A/C compressor starting to make some noise but cooling is excellent; some wear on the driver's seat where you slide in that's not too bad; a little vibration from 60-65mph but no safety issue according to the dealership; CD changer reportedly doesn't work (I never tried it).

I'd love to keep her but I'm leaving the US and not sure when I'll be back so rather than let her rot in storage I'd like her to find a new owner.

CarFAX runs clean.

PM me if you want more photos or details on the rebuild.

Passed Maryland Inspection when I had it for sale last fall and I'm willing to do it again if you're in Maryland and buy it in the next few days.

Nice rig at a nice price.

Photos and previous comments on my earlier posting (including a favorable review by Cam from Iron Pig Off-road - he knows the truck well): https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/493321-97-lx450-exc-cond-7900-dc-area.html (yes, it's a '96, not a '97).

Crap, I keep finding awesome deals on 450's right now but shipping would be almost $2,000 to get to WA state... GRRRR.

You could fly over and drive back :-) It's a nice trip this time of year.

Man if I had to drive from DC to WA state I'd have to steal you name. :D Believe me, I'd do it in a heart beat if the :princess: would sign off on it.

*** PRICE DROP TO $6500 CASH FOR IMMEDIATE PURCHASE ONLY ***

Serious buyers only - call me at 301-221-1712.

Somebody help me out here. I'm going low, low, low to save the hassles of trying to sell from overseas.

For some additional exposure, I suggest posting it on KSL.com the free local ads here in Utah. You'll get the Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and some of the western Colorado shoppers.

Good luck!

I saw the car on Friday but decided against buying it. My impressions is that it's a nice looking car, exterior is in good shape, VIN stickers on all the panels, and the interior is clean for a 215k car. I decided against buying it when I noticed the large collection of oil on the center diff (tc) and another small leak from under the front of the car. As for the front, I can't tell where the leak is coming from but it's minor and weeping at best. Seller stated the oil on the center diff is from a previous repair, both my friend and I disagreed since both leaks had fresh oil to the touch. In the end, I just didn't feel comfortable buying it.

Disagree w/ Fang

Grease was from old oil leak from oil pump (fixed) and probably previous leaks under original owner.

Vehicle has no known leaks at this time.

6.5k is a smoking deal on this california truck.

Not sure who you are "fangtl", but god forbid a 15 year old truck leaks some oil.

Since fangtl's posts are limited to 4, quite frankly, I would disrequard his opinion.

I was going to purchase this truck a month ago (formerly owned by an Iron Pig employee) but could not agree to terms and purchased another cruiser (seller was asking 8k). I would have pulled the trigger for 6.5k.

This is one of the cleanest 80's on the east coast.

Wish I was over my 60 I would love this truck and if Cam or any of his crew say it's a good truck I would believe them. Good Luck with the sale.
