So I had a 1/4 tank of fuel went to the pump and filled up the tank pulled out and the motor died. So I figured I got air in the system somehow and pumped the pump and still no start.pulled the fuel line to the injector pump and pumped solid fuel coming out no air, loosened the rear injector turned it over no fuel coming out. So would it be the injector pump? I checked all the fuses under the dash looked all good. Is there any other fuses or relays for this this?

Could be a lot of things

Does the engine turn over?

Common things
IP selenoid not getting power or has failed
Air in line
Clogged pickup in the tank

I agree with @jayp2 on the common things. Something to consider is you just added a fair amount of fuel to the tank and that might have stirred up some debris in the tank and that is now in the fuel system and causing a clog.

If you aren't getting pressure at the injectors then start working backwards towards the tank.
Next would be the injection pump and that solenoid that opens to allow fuel into the pump. Those are a fail point.

From there check the fuel lines back to filter. If they are suspect then might be loosing prime. Also if the filter hasn't been serviced recently time for a new filter. An easy swap in part. I would also make sure you have prime at the pump. The plunger should be hard to push, if it is easy there is air getting into the system.

From there work back to the tank and make sure there isn't a clog.

Lastly, I know on the 78s there is a pre-screen filter on the bottom of the fuel suction tube that lives in the fuel tank. It might be clogged. That will require pulling that out of the tank to verify.

Also here is the troubleshooting steps out of the engine manual.

So I finally got it running yesterday not 100 percent sure what I did I checked all the wiring on the eco which is behind the glove box ,charged the battery fully and sure enough it started right up and its actually now starting better than ever. Not sure what I did but it's running and driving again . Im going to change all the filters and fluid in this truck. I hope this was a one time issue and doesn't happen again. may have to drop the tank at some point and make sure its not full of rust I will cut the filter open when I change it and see what it looks like.
anybody run a pre filter ??would be nice to have the old school glass one.

@krumby First glad its starting. You mentioned charging the battery. Was it low or just a precaution? I ask this because we learned this the hard way on ours that there is a key release on top of the column that allows the ignition switch to be turned all the way off. We didn't realize this for about a month because our key was so worn that we would turn the truck "off" and the key would slide out like we expected. Our 78 is the only vehicle I've driven that is setup this way, so for about a month we never fully turned off the truck which ended up causing a hard to start truck and a flat battery of course.

I charged the battery just from trying to start it for so long just to make sure Im getting all the power to start I dont think that was what the problem was and yes I know about the key release mine works as it should.
