There was talk a day or so ago of a heating unit that wraps around the lower coolant hose, and circulates warm coolant through your engine, I called and it's about 20 bucks, think this is what I'm going to do, hard to burn coolant or mess anything up by just removing a coolant hose and sliding this heater around it. Anyway I think we were talking about it Friday actually, something to look at maybe. Good luck.

Mine is installed on the passenger side of the engine. Can't remember what frost plug though.
Cheers,
Sean

sounds like brent is talking about a circulating heater, very nice, but eats up the amps, I have one on my bj 60 and it trips the breaker(15 A) when I first plug it in, and yes I already tried replacing the breaker, just to let ya know!!! mine is old, but I talked to another guy who told me his trips his GFCI on his outside plug = PITA. My reg block heater on the 80 doesn't trip anything, although I know i is not nearly as "healthy" for cold starts as a circ heater
sorry to rammble...

When you get the Toyota block heater, the instructions will tell you which freeze plug and which way the heating element should point. I can't recall which plug I used, but I used the Toyota instructions and mine's on the right hand side.

Hey Doug
are you the one who got the heater sourced through Dan out of Cananda?
If not, you got a Toyota block heater? Where?

Mine is toyota. Yep live in Canada.
Cheers,
Sean

Mine is from Toyota, circa 1993 but if I understand CDan correctly these are no longer available. Contact Dan as I believe he was working on a source from Canadian Toyota.

Moj - Thanks for noticing I have been scarce. It's been a busy period, then I took the family back to Michigan for 3 weeks over the holidays. Got back Friday and nice to see everyone's still here. 'Cept I thought you guys were shipping Junk overseas??..

Doug,

Glad to have you back! (I'm not Moj, but... ;) )

Well... (un)fortunately, Junk is still here. :D :D :D

We're looking forward to getting your (expert) opinions once again! :)
