I was reading about a charcol air canister being in the Cali. model are there any other differences and should I plan on removing them?

I don't think they made a California specific model.

The EVAP system on all US Spec 80 Series has a charcoal canister that should not be removed.

Good--I don't want to run into some oddball problems down the road.....

94-UP US SPEC 80'S are all 50 states emissions.

There was a 91 to 93 california model 80. It had an EGR temp sensor allowing you to throw a code 71. The federal 93 is the way to go.
