Land Cruiser is sold.
Asking 18k for the whole setup. I will sell the trailer/tent separately if the cruiser sells first.
Power windows, locks, seats, moonroof. Heat, A/C and cruise control work well. No tears in seats or door panels, carpet has no holes or stains. Paint is original and shines nicely, all glass other than windshield is OEM. I have complete 2nd and 3rd row seats
I purchased the vehicle in Salem, Oregon in spring of 2017. Using the landcruiser forums I was able to track down some history on the truck. According to owner number 2, it was a garage queen in vail Colorado with the original owners for 22 years until he bought it and sold it to the guy I bought it from.
Maintenance at 207k included the following
-New Old Man Emu Lift 2.5"
-New Old Man Emu Steering Stabilizer
-New Old Man Emu Caster Correction Bushings
-New Koyo Radiator
-Rebuilt fan clutch
-New Drive Belts
-New OEM Thermostat
-New Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
-New Toyota Red Coolant with Distilled Water (A very thorough flush was performed)
-New Synthetic Transmission fluid (Pan was dropped, wiped clean, and reinstalled with a new gasket)
-Complete Power Steering Flush with Synthetic ATF
-New Synthetic Rotella T6 Engine Oil with Napa Gold Oil Filter
-New Oil Pump Seal (OEM Toyota Seal)
-New Front Main Seal (OEM Toyota Seal)
-New Oil Level Sensor Gasket (OEM Toyota Seal)
-New Distributer Cap & Rotor
-New WIX Fuel Filter
-New WIX Air Filter
-New Factory Correct Spark Plugs (Copper NGK)
-New Speedo Gear Gasket (OEM Toyota Seal
-New Direct Replacement Catalytic Converters with new Stainless Steel hardware
-New Goodyear Duratrac Tires 285/75/16
-New Powdercoated Black Factory Land Cruiser Wheels (Wheels were inspected and sandblasted before powdercoating)
-New wipers blades (3)
-New Weathertech Front and Cargo Laser fit Floormats (Black)
-New Sideview Mirrors
-New AVS Vent Shades
-Center Diff Lock Switch Installed
During my ownership I have performed the following:
-Swapped in two completely rebuilt axles that are fitted with factory electronic locking front and rear differentials. Wired up so you can lock them independently. Axles received all new bearings and seals, birfield joints were disassembled, cleaned/inspected and re-installed.
-installed new toyota EGR modulator, this cured a recurring CEL. Since then I have bypassed the EGR properly and don't have any check engine lights, I will smog the cruiser for a CA buyer.
-Installed a rebuilt head on the motor. The head was gone through at a local machine shop. They replaced valve stem seals, set valve clearance, and removed less than .005" to clean up the sealing surface (at my request). The camshaft had no visible wear, so it was cleaned/inspected and reused. I installed all toyota gaskets, along with replacing every vacuum line and coolant hose on the motor. A spare set of injectors was cleaned/balanced and installed at the same time. The lower end showed no visible cylinder ridge, and the factory crosshatching was clearly visibly throughout the entire length of the cylinder bores, the pistons showed minimal carbon buildup. When I pulled the valve cover off, there was no sludge buildup anywhere. The head work was done as preventative maintenance as I had no history of the head gasket being replaced. Head was rebuilt and installed utilizing the factory toyota service manual.
-fabricated and installed bolt on steps/sliders, roof rack and a hidden winch mount behind the front bumper (the winch and wiring will not go with the truck, but the mount will)
-headlights upgraded to 9011 bulbs
-ecu replaced with one from a 1994 model year
-rear lower control arms reinforced with DOM tubing
-insulated transmission tunnel
-installed cd player and upgraded speaker with blue tooth and hands free calling. Stock stereo is available, when I got the truck it still had the stock stereo and speakers.
-brakes flushed and bled, 100 series landcruiser pads installed up front at 240k, rear pads are showing 75% friction material left.
-oil changes were done at 5k intervals with rotella and wix filters, air filter recently changed too.
-285/75/16 Cooper discoverer AT3's installed at 213k, they currently show over of their tread depth. I purchased an extra OEM land cruiser rim and had it powder coated to match the others. The tire is also matching and I do a 5 tire rotation every 5k or so. Tires have been rotated and balanced within the last 3k.
-pesky heater hose was replaced and doesn't leak
-rear heater has been deleted and all lines (hard and soft) have been removed
-wiring near EGR pipe was cleaned and inspected, but showed no damage. EGR pipe was wrapped with heat insulating wrap, so was the wiring.
-the higher power starter from a 1994 was installed. At the time of installation it was disassembled, cleaned and inspected. New contacts/plunger were installed.
-blue sea fuse box was installed to power locking differentials and CB radio.
-neutral safety switch was cleaned and inspected
-I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting, I'm trying to find my notebook that has everything written down.
Issues:
-has a slight oil leak from the rear arch seal on the lower oil pan (not rear main seal), it doesn't leak enough to affect the oil level between changes. I clean/inspect the underside of the truck at least once a month, and it hasn't changed since I owned it. I also clean off the oil residue from this minor leak.
-driver's side fender flare has a good sized scuff from a guy on a dual sport bike who fell on the land cruiser while we were on the white rim road in Moab. Paint is original and shows the chips and scratches you would expect for a truck this old. However it cleans up really nice and I get lots of compliments on it.
The truck is not my daily driver, and is generally stored in the garage or car port. It's an extremely reliable and proven truck. In April of this year, it carried my son and I to the northwest overland rally in Washington and then into British Columbia and back down the Washington and Oregon coast. In October of this year, we drove it to Moab, Utah and back, in November we went to Baja Mexico for the Baja 1000. Every one of these trips exceeded 2k miles each and the land cruiser always performed flawlessly. I built this truck to do just that, get you way out there and back without issue, which it does exceedingly well. I've owned more than handful of 4x4 vehicles built similarly to this one and the 80 series land cruiser certainly lives up the reputation it has.
Trailer frame is 2x3x.125 steel tube, uprights, upper rail, and cross members are 1x2x.065. Skins are aluminum, tailgate is skinned with stainless steel to function as a kitchen surface. Tie downs inside are stainless steel, so is the lifting handle on the tongue. Approximately 4x6 inside dimensions, fits 4 pelican 1660 cases absolutely perfect. Removable hitch, currently has a max coupler hitch, tongue length is long enough to allow the trailer to be parked 90 degrees in relation to the land cruiser. Axle is a 3500 pound unit, 80 series width, leaf sprung with 2 leafs removed for a better ride. Wheels are factory 80 series rims, powder coated black to match the truck. Tires are 285/75/16 cooper AT3’s, again to match the truck. Trailer is designed to have lid installed in the future, has mounts for hinge on the front wall. Has provisions at both rear corners for trailer jacks so that the whole setup can be leveled. With two jacks mounted at the rear and one on the tongue it’s super easy to level. Cross bars mount to welded nuts in the top rail and can mount in several different locations. The tent is a maggiolina airland medium and is used, but is in very good shape. Has anti condensation mat under the mattress, all zippers work, has hanging gear organizers too. Trailer is CA registered, and has approximately 2000 miles on it from one moab trip where it did an amazing job as our basecamp. Park it, level it and pop the tent, boom you’re camping in style!
Why am I selling? Variety is the spice of life, and I like change
As usual, serious buyers only please. I can provide more info and pictures if needed, or we can facetime so I can show you whatever you want to see. If you have to ask your wife/girlfriend/mom/dad/husband/boyfriend/boss/uncle/CFO or whoever for permission or money, please do so before contacting me.
I have a room full of spare 80 series parts: Front axle, birfs, rear shafts, 1fz head, throttle body, ECU, wiring harness, interior parts, battery box, tow hooks, marker lights, have a spare chassis with trans/t case, doors, hatch. You get the idea, LOTS of stuff.
for the fastest response, please email me at porko53@hotmail.com. Trades considered and I will be happy to negotiate price once you have seen the truck in person. I've gotten way too many one line low ball texts/emails.
