Have owned this rig for 15 yrs and love it. Live in Duluth, MN and have no complaints other than mileage that was until 2 wks ago when it began dying at idle when cold. Initially starts fine then as it begins to warm it drops below 500rpm and quits. It seems to get better as the vehicle warms up but for the first few stops I have to watch or it will quit at the stop sign. I have disconnected the EGK something valve to no eval, replace the throttle body with a used unit from Crusier.net as well as a new throttle cable as it was sticking on. The mechanic at the dealership with 30 yrs experience working on Toyotas says it's going to be searching for a needle in a haystack so I decided to go elsewhere. Any ideas?

Thank you.

What BirfMark said... Wrap it in Duct Tape just to be sure, it's hard to spot the little cracks sometimes. That would be the easiest first step. Also could be the Throttle Position Sensor, try searching for TPS here, there is a good write-up on how to test to see if it's good...

I dont have a 93 but have you checked the throttle tube??

You guys beat me to it..

Duck tape worked, you guys rock! Just saved me taking this into the dealer for the 5th time...I'll be back as needed. Until then will enjoy the old beast...
