I bought this cruiser in June. I drove it a few weeks and found a 99 LC with factory rear locker. So, this one has to go. It is a native Texan truck, from what I know about it. It was in a Texas Hail storm and now has a salvage title. Hood, roof and passenger side caught the brunt of Hail. Driver side is good. All fenders/hood/rear gate still have the factory serial number stickers, so I'm thinking it's never been in a wreck or never in one that was bad enough to warrant a panel change.
I changed belts and oil/filter. Someone had previously installed NGK wires and new plugs.
The Good:
-AC blows colder than my new Tundra
-Interior would be dang near perfect if someone hadn't ripped front speaker grilles off.
-Starts and runs out great. Transmission shifts great.
-Factory Front/Rear Lockers!!!!
The Bad:
-Idles high at cold start for about a minute. IAC sensor?
-Front Birf's need rebuilt/seals-some oil leakage and popping while turning.
-Low gas light stays on but the gauge works as it should
-Sunroof is cracked but I haven't seen it leak...and It's been in some good rain here.
-ABS light is constantly on. Wire is broken that goes to Front Left Wheel.
-Center diff will engage but sensor is out.... which means that the front and rear locking motors will not try to engage. Those indictors only blink. I'm not well versed on these but that's my preliminary diagnosis. ABS light may have some part in the lockers not working, idk.
-The front end leaks at Birf's and the transfer case seeps, but it has never left an oil spot on my driveway.
-Minimal frame rust.
Summary:
Salvage title Cruiser from hail storm that you can take to build into a great trail rig/expedition rig. COLD AC, Heat works great too, Needs some front end work and possibly some cleaning of locker sensors and/or locking motors. I just never got that far into it because I happened across a deal on a 100 series LC.
$3800 FIRM. Title in hand. It is located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I will assist with shipping if you prefer to go that route, although I prefer you drive it before purchase or at lease send someone to inspect.
