'93 FZJ80 wheels on a '72 FJ40???

Will the 16" wheels off of my '93 FZJ80 fit on my '72 FJ40?

I have done the MAF disc brake conversion on the front and am running disk brake OEM 15" wheels w/ 33x9.50's now.

I want to put the larger/wider 80 tires/wheels on for a trip to Clayton, OK here in a couple of weeks.

Without me wagging those suckers around, does anyone know if they will fit?

wont work without alot of spacer. 80's use 4.5" backspacing and a 40 needs 3.75 or less.

I have 80 series wheels on my 40 with a 1.25" spacer. You will need 1.25 - 1.5 spacer. Isn't the 80 series more like 4.75" BS ???

Oh well, scratch that idea. Only wanted to do it if it was a direct swap.
