Dude that's so awesome. That's gonna be one sweet factory fresh ride when it's done.

I had three "pucks" made to use to press the bushings out of the stock links, radius arms and panhards. Already have one for the front radius arm bushings

Wow that 62 looks awesome. Really like that color.

Wow man this is serious!!! That looks like a s*** load of work right there.

do you generally run a single dual in dual out muffler or two mufflers on the 60/62 v8 swaps. I want to get mine a little quiter without dropping below the frame rail. Right now I have a large 2.5 magnaflow dual-in / dual-out, generally under the driver side seats, but sound is getting to be too much.

In general, I run 2 into 1 and run a 2.5 piped down the driver's side. Sounds to me like you need more muffler.

You also gain more bottom end going 2 into 1 exhaust routing.

A little back pressure is a good thing.

well I believe its the biggest dual in dual out muffler magnaflow makes @ 2.5 each side, going to see the local exhaust guy to see what other options are workable. I know that magnaflow makes almost the same muffler in 2.5 with two in and one out, it may be quieter... I'm tired of the noise.

Think I am going to need another engine stand

Sub'd.....

The frame is sitting on padded jack stands. Slow going for a bit, customer project is ahead of the 80 build.

Rest assured that when you bring your truck to HFS it will be guarded with state of the art security.

What!? No 6.2L? :)

Not for this truck, maybe another down the road.

It's a roller!!!! I can at least now roll it out of the shop if I need the extra bay. Panhards are not tied in until I get some weight on the frame

Thats progress.. most people dont understand the amount of work that goes into a full blown restoration. I've never restored an 80, but I have been involved in 2 Corvette rotisserie style resto mods. Looking forward to more updates.

All it takes is time and money :) and we're running out of both! Seriously though, you are correct. All the little details are what takes the time. Every piece you see in the photos above has been either sand blasted or wire wheeled, including all the hardware, then primed and painted. All new suspension bushings, Old Man Emu 2.5" heavy lift. The radius arms have original bushings, I have to wait until the vehicle is at full weight before installing the castor correcting bushings. I've got all new OEM body mounts to be used when the body goes back on.
