FINALLY got this truck back from the AC guy. 5 WEEKS!! The owner wants his truck, go figure. Anyway finally got her back and the AC is blowing cold as hell and the motor is running great. Everything is buttoned up. This one is a 62 but will be quite the same in this 80 build, even a split case :) AC is blowing ice cold and it runs steady at 180 degrees with the AC full blast.

Sub'd...looks so clean, nice work! Can you please take a picture of the paint can (or product info) and a brief explanation of why you went with that item? I will be cleaning up my frame and am interested in what products and processes you use.

No one product will work well in all cases. Example is POR15, great stuff on a rough nasty rusted up frame as it has plenty of rough surface to bite to. Not so good on a completely cleaned smooth frame.

The frame, axle housings, bumpers and sliders will be painted a gunmetal type grey, everything that bolts to the frame will be black. I have used Rustoleum Industrial for years on custom bumpers with good results. I am leaning that way. One of the big up sides for this paint is that it is available everywhere and makes touch up easy. I buy it in quarts or gallon and spray it on with a spray gun. Never had an issue with it over the years.

I am a real diy'r so I can appreciate anything that can readily be purchased and used.

Gunmetal grey/gray is a great color.

Everything gets painted, the "shiny" you are seeing is bare steel.

All the shiny stuff gets painted.
Picked up the rear axle from the blaster today. A little wire wheel love and it'll be ready for paint.

Looking good Stan.

I would take this opportunity to also beef up the panhard to frame mount.

I will be doing just that Onur. It is a mess from some crap the PO did. I wanted paint on it to stop any rust from developing.

LOL yeah, I take lots of photos, have a couple 80s out front to look at as well. All hardware is bagged and tagged as well.

Thank you for the kind words

I added a couple more casters to the dollie, can roll it around alone with relative ease
