I figured I would start a thread on my 92 rebuild. This will more than likely be SLOW GOING as I will be working on this one between customer work in the shop. The list of "to-do's" is very long. In the end this vehicle will act as the company flag ship. 5.3L Vortec/built 4L60E/split case/manual hubs

I am really leaning hard to removing the body to allow all the frame work to be done without dealing with it overhead all the time and allow complete frame cleanup and re-paint. I'll have to make a pretty stout dolly to be able to move the body around.

Got the front clip off and complete drive train out

What is your budget?

It is a little loose at this point but I am guessing $20-25K by the time it is all said and done. It will be sent out for the body & paint and also the interior work, the rest will be done here at my shop.

I wish I had pulled my entire front clip. It would have been easier to work over the frame mounts. Nice project!

I have done swaps in the past with only pulling the radiator support and it was just more hassle than it was worth. Pulling the front clip is not really that much more effort and makes all the work required easier.

I built this today. Add a couple cross members that line up with body mounts and a body dollie is born. Re purposed rack that came off an off road trailer. 1" lower than stock body height.

I have to ask about those wheels. Those are awesome. Where did the come from?

The entire frame has been wire wheeled on top and both sides, front axle is removed. Wore 1/2" off a 4" wire wheel!

They are FJ Cruiser steel rims with Rock Rings welded to them. I sell the rock rings. Those are 17" rims, can make the rock rings for 16" and 15" as well. See my web site for designs . www.HFS4x4.com

That looks amazing... The OCD side in me is absolutely drooling.

Yes, I am in Chesnee, SC, just north of Spartanburg, 6 miles from NC line

Thanks Onur. I'll be sending a PM next week, need to get the parts heading this way.

Awesome. I am really enjoying this thread. So is your plan to paint or coat the polished parts with something to decrease oxidation? I bet those parts never looked that shiny off of the factory floor, LOL.
