Ever since I released the 95-97 dash bezel/phone mount a couple years ago, I have been getting bugged to make one for the 91-94 dash. There isn't the ideal space like on the later dash so I put off this project until I had a good chunk of time to dedicate to it. I'm finally in my slow season and am now trying to crank through as many projects as possible with my little bit of down time. This project is close to being done but not 100%. This version is NOT for sale on my site yet. I think I have it dialed in based on the dash section I have been working with BUT I have not test fit this inside the 91-94 80 series yet. I'm hopeful someone will step up here in socal and give me access to their 80 for 15 minutes. Hopefully in the IE area. If it fits great, I will leave the phone mount installed for free to cover the hassle and their time. Here's what I have so far. It's just a phone mount and nothing more. I may add a CB mic holder, and dash switch mount down the road at some point but for now and for the foreseeable future it will just be a phone holder. If this design has no interference issues inside the vehicle then I will make a large batch and get them added to my website in a week or two. For reference to the original 95-97 mount you can see pics here. 80 Series Accessories Dash Bezel/Cell Phone Mount – BH3D Printing
That mount was easy to design in other functions due to the large hole in the dash I had to work with. This new design for the older 80 doesn't have that large hole so I was limited greatly on space and function.

Your 3D printing is really smooth. This phone mount looks injection molded from a factory. Have you updated your process?

Sign me up for the mic holder when you get there. I've had one of those blanks sitting on my bench for months trying to figure out how to get a mic onto it!

If anyone still has "clip in" phone holders. Let me introduce you to the phone holder version of sliced bread. Magnetic phone holders.
I have them in my 40 and 80 and done plenty of wheeling (or overlanding like the hipsters call it) and they never fall off. Best part is you just kinda throw the phone in the general area and it grabs. Nothing to break.

Very nice. Was just looking yesterday at how to mount one of my Scosche Magnetic Dash Mount in that spot, I don't use my clock so didn't mind covering it up. I use an old phone for the toyocom obd reader screen. I like your mounting design to the dash, but sticks out to far for my needs. You do good work

The actual holder for the phone with the red padding is not printed. That is mass produced. The mount that attaches to the dash and connects the phone holder is printed. I sand everything by hand then do 4 coats of acetone wash. That usually get most if not all of the 3D printed marking removed. The larger the part is the harder getting it smooth becomes because the layers have to get thicker to keep print time down. Small parts can get thinner layers which makes smoothing out super easy. Acetone is the key to smoothing ABS. I have also now been printing for 5 years and running over 40 machines so the experience factor definitely helps.

Once I get one fitted into an 80 then I can adjust the depth of how far it sticks out. I want it to clear the clock but not intrude into the passenger space in any way. I will get it dialed in once I get a volunteer to help me get this project wrapped up.

I'd volunteer, but would take a few days to get there, be a nice drive though

Hopefully somebody local will step up. We will see. I'm going to start a thread over in the local chapter section.

I was referring to the part that attaches to the dash and not the phone holder.

This looks very promising, might stick out too far from the dash though. Make sure to post lots of pics from different angles when you do find a truck to test fit in.

I have a 91 and in Orange County.

Would that be strong enough to hang my Galaxy tablet from?

It's a pretty strong mount but I'm not sure it can open wide enough to accept a tablet. When I get back to my shop this afternoon I will measure it's max width and let you know.

Is there a way to allow a RAM Mount X-Grip to be used? Would require a 1" ball female end on the arm. This is what I had in mind when I first saw the thread, but looking closer it appears you've got things configured the opposite way.

Or alternatively, just have a 1" ball on the part that mounts to the dash, so users could add whatever length arm and cradle to suit their needs using aftermarket bits like the RAM Mounts stuff. Would allow users to mount whatever they wanted rather than being constrained by the included phone mount. I personally HATE the red cushion on the one pictured.

I'm in Temecula and you're welcome to use my '94 for any fitment tests. PM if you're interested.

Also in Temecula and have a 94, I'll be up in Pomona and down in SD this week so can meet just about anywhere. Pm if needed!

I've been pretty disappointed in my x-grip. My phone doesn't fall out, but the design of the mount allows it to rotate within a ~20 degree window making it unreadable on rough roads.

I found a local with a 94 only minutes from the campus I teach at. I will meet up with him this week and get some pics posted up for you guys to see.
