if you need another test rig, mine is in Ventura and available.

come on up, we'll go get tacos.

Would that be strong enough to hang my Galaxy tablet from?
I'm sorry, I totally forgot to give you an answer to your question. The phone holder opens 4" wide max. Thats wider than any phone on the market but i dont know about tablets. The soft foam sides would allow a slightly larger phone. Maybe up to 4.2" max width.

alright, i'm in for one of these. I have a 90 hdj81, but the dash fitment looks close enough that i'd be willing to buy and try it.

It's an awesome product and one i had been contemplating since my LC arrived on monday and i discovered my vent mount was not going to work very well.

It took a little longer to get these pics then expected. Now that I have seen it installed I'm not sure it sticks out too far. It clears the clock perfectly so the driver can still see and read it. You can also tilt it up higher and get is much snugger to the dash. Sticking straight out and then angled towards the the driver there is about 1.5" of space between the mount and dash. The dash definitely sticks out at the top making it look much more snug to the dash then when it was just sitting on the dash piece not in the vehicle. Fitment was pretty spot on the angle and height worked well for visibility when using it for GPS on your phone. I forgot to bring a 2nd phone to show it mounted in the phone holder. I will get more pics later this week. I also forgot to bring the hardware to mount it to the dash. That will all get remedied in a few days.

Alright, when can we order these!?

Alright, when can we order these!?
There is one minor non visable change I plan to make tomorrow and will then go into production on these on Monday. I will have a batch ready to go by next weekend. I'm still trying to figure out cost right now. It's going to be somewhere between $27-$30.

My phone uses wireless charging, but my wireless charger uses the same ball lock mechanism as yours. Any chance you'll be selling the mount without the head?

I'm sure we can figure something out to work for you. Once you see the product on my website then shoot me a PM.

Will do. Thanks

Alright @bhicks now i see what you've done here. I went to check to see if the mount was on the sight yet and ended up add console and rear cupholders to my order awaiting the dash mount. :)

That's how he'll get you, lol. I've got the rear center console cupholder from @bhicks and it's the best cupholder in the truck.

So after a week and use it seems like this phone mount it's working exactly how I had hoped. Here's some pictures of it screwed down and in use. I am now in full production on these. I hope to have the first batch available on my website sometime tomorrow afternoon.

How's the fitment along the bottom edge? Looks like there's a bit of a gap there in your pics where the mount contour doesn't quite match the dash.

It's a really weird part. Every single one I test fit was a little tiny bit different. Since the entire back side is curved the 3D printers tend to warp the edges and corners a little bit. Some fit perfectly flush while others were curled up a little bit at the top or occasionally at the bottom. Technically I could have just tightened the screws down and snugged it up a little better but I didnt in anyway want to crack his dash. It wasn't my vehicle. I put zero force on the screws. I simply screwed them in until they seated flush into the counter sunk holes and then stopped. I am certain I could have gone much tighter with the screws.

Well, i 've got to have a better solution than my current, I'm going to be ordering as soon as its up (just checked and didn't see it). Hopefully the mount will work out to be flush! Thanks @bhicks

I finally got the first small batch up on my site. I had a really busy week with orders so I was only able to make a small batch. If you see "Sold Out" on my site; I will restock sometime early next week. Sorry I wasn't able to make a much larger batch. Here's the website link:

You have way more 3D printing experience than i do and you may have already done all you can to address this, but in the off chance you haven't tried, its my understanding that a more rigid frame will sometimes address this issue. By rigid, i mean a cube frame of extruded aluminum similar to the hypercube evo.

Just a thought. No offense intended

Great use of space. Wondering if it's possible to make a mount that would accept ram accessories. I'm sure weight would be an issue but if the end user was to add a support to the backside .

Sorry it that has been asked already

I will look into making a ram ball so the ram system can mount to it. I first need the time to create this. I will have some free time in the summer. I also need to look into the weight of ram mounted items and make sure that location can handle the weight with just screws and adhesive. For now and for the next few months, this will be the only phone mount option.
