I'm not sure why I'm having so much pain replacing a simple bulb. I initially wanted brighter/whiter bulbs, so I ordered a pair of 9006 LED's, well they do not fit back of the housing, thought it was just bad fitment, I orders two more pairs from different aftermarket brands, not luck. Then I finally resorted to Sylvania Silver Star Ultra halogens, still won't fit!! I can't believe it, I thought I had them before. What's going on? I currently have Phillips 9006 on and it fits right in with a simple twist. Is there something else I need to make sure it's a match other than 9006? Please advise.

are you sure you are not putting the 9006 in a 9005 socket? If you upgrade to 9011/9012 HIR you get more light, but you have to cut the plastic part of the bulb to match the original UZJ 100 socket (905 for 9011, 9006 for 9012.) Good news is since you cut them yourself you know they will fit!
For the Sylvanias, see how the 9005' s fit and try orienting the plug end of the 2006 the same way before inserting.

No modifications done! So I'm not sure why! Never ran into this issue before. I noticed the connector has two slots, Sylvania has one. But my old Phillips that fits has two slots. Are there different types of 9006? My headlight housing is all factory.

The base just can't be fully inserted so I can twist. The old Philips inserts right in and twist and lock. What's going on? Is mine 9005? Is there such thing for 2005 LC100?

Are there readable markings on the metal base of each bulb? What do they say? Does it feel like a diameter mismatch issue, or an artificial mechanical stop issue?

If you don't own a micrometer, perhaps head to a machine shop and have them measure the metal base diameter at the top and bottom.

I will attach a photo tomorrow. This is a photo of a 9006 Philips Crystal Vision Ultra, has one alot, my current Philips 2+ years old) has two slots, but also a 9006. have they changed over the years? If I can insert the bulb properly, I would cut off the slot so I can plug it properly.

That's what I just started to wonder as well. So 2005 model year also has 9005 low beam bulbs? Based on my research they all came up with 9006.
