What do I need to do to a stock 98 Tacoma short box in order to run 9.50-15x33" tires on it? Can I do a small lift on it and get clearance, or do I need to cut the cab corners?

Definately a lift for 33's. You might want to try ttora for more answers.

I know that there will have to be a lift to run 33's, I am curious how much of a lift I will need to avoid doing any cutting on the cab corners. What I have seen makes it look like the cab rubbing issue is from wide tires when turned lock to lock....

I am running 255/85R16 on an 02. They are about 33.3" tall and pretty narrow. Before I lifted they rubbed on the back of the wheel well on the bed and after my OME they rub the front. In the front well I would bend the pinch weld flat and that is all. They barely rub the frame when the wheel is cranked. I have have the stock sr5 wheels.

im sure if you put a leveling kit in the front, atleast, and install some fiberglass fenders you should be fine...you shouldn't have to worry about the inside rubbing since there only 9.50's ...
