I removed the tranny from this vehicle the other day. The torque converter is somehow still attched to the flywheel. I don't want to damage this converter. How is the torque converter released from the flywheel? Thx inadvance

The manual suggests that the torque converter is supposed to come off with the transmission, but that is after you unbolt it from the fly wheel. There are six bolts that hold the torque converter onto the flywheel. These are removed from the front side of the fly wheel. There should be an access hole on the lower front side of the flywheel where you can access the bolts. Rotate the engine by hand to rotate each bolt into the access area. Now that you've already removed the transmission, be careful you don't drop the convertor because there is nothing to hold it in place once you remove the bolts.

I concur Doctor. If the engine is seized....youre screwed!!!! (not completely, but it gets a lot more involved!)
