It is with much sadness that I am putting up Margot, my 1988 FJ62 for sale. Her story started in '88 in Georgia. Purchased by an Air Force captain that was on leave most of the time, so the first few years were spent covered up in a barn. Eventually made its way to Milford DE where I snagged up one of my dream rigs in '08 with 66k original miles on it, WOW! I believe I am the third owner.

The truck now sits with 110k miles. This thing has been a dream to own. Up until last year it was my daily driver. A little kiddo has come along and a potential move to CO by July has influenced me to let her go. Shes a real looker and I constantly get comments on it.

The last two years I have only put 10k miles on it and many of those miles were logged on long road trips to northern new england with no issues what so ever. The truck runs smooth and strong and doesnt appear to have any major mechanical issues. The truck is near original. It wasnt muddled with before me and I havent done much but put bigger tires on it. In the last year or two rust has begun to poke its head out on the driver side rear fender and tailgate, though it doesnt seems to be through the metal yet. But here are a few other problems with the truck to note.

Exterior:
Radio Antannae busted off
Rust on driver side rear fender and tailgate (see Photos)
Very minor dings and dimples, etc that come along with a truck this age

Interior:
Driver Seat wear
Back third of headliner gone

Engine:
A/C not blowing cold---Have not trouble shot
Heat doesnt blow super hot---Have a feeling the heater core may be bad
Radio cuts in/out

I wish I were more diligent about keeping receipts for work done. Not much has gone wrong with this truck. A couples months after I bought it I replaced the radiator, thermostat, waterpump. A couple years ago the starter went bad, but besides those issues, nothing major has gone wrong with it.

Iam hoping to get Margot in the hands of someone who really appreciates her. Either keep her original and pure or spec it out for an overland trip to Ushuaia and back. $6800. Check out the photos and let me know what you think.
