Hi all - Finally need to replace the clutch and RMS on my truck. For this setup do I have to go with the Marks clutch kit or can I get the 4spd LC clutch kit with a GM RMS and Pilot Bearing??

Thanks in advance!!

Assume you have a marks adapter... I assume you are running a GM clutch and flywheel that mates with the year of the GM engine you have?

I have an 86 LC with 350 vortec and 5speed Yota trans. I run a GM clutch and flywheel from a GM pickup that matches my year engine (1999 GM 5.7 Vortec).

I also should comment that I have a centerforce brand clutch...which I think various parties have said works better in these concersions. Centerforce clutch & pressure plate + GM flywheel. I would assume that a standard GM clutch / pressure plate would work fine too. Maybe some others can comment on that.

You will need all GM stuff, you have a GM Flywheel

I've done two V-8 swaps into LCs, and I have yet to use a Centerforce clutch, although I hear they are consistently good quality and they have a short throw that the LC needs, but so do some ordinary Chevy parts as well. I reccomend that you take your dead pressure plate in to the local clutch rebuild shop and get it redone. It's cheaper and if it worked before, it will work again. If you can't find a place that rebuilds them, there is an excellent facility in Salt Lake City, Six States Distributors, they have a dedicated clutch shop and can rebuild your existing plate quickly and cheaply and then you know it will work right. I've been going there for more than two decades and I always get the right stuff at the best price, and they know thier business!
