Any help with a sway bar on a Dana 60 rear end

I swapped in some Dana 60 axles and did a SOA. I would love to get some sway bars to help the on road stability. I know you could fab something up, but I was wondering if anyone has done this? Thanks in advance for any help.

My son has an '87 Land Cruiser F60, and bought a sway bar for an F62 along with bushings and extending links (he has it raised). We installed the bar this afternoon and had a very hard time getting the D-shaped split rubber bushing and its U-shaped bracket to attach to the mounts that are welded to the axle. I am wondering if we got the right bushings. The axle mount is a bracket with a female threaded hole toward the front of the axle and a slot toward the rear. The U-shaped bracket for holding the bushing has a "tang" that slips into the slot, then the bracket, with the swar bar in its D-shaped split rubber bushing, is swung forward while the tang is kept in the slot, then a bolt is run through a hole in the bracket into the threaded mount on the axle.

It was very difficult to get the tang into the slot then make it stay there while we ran the bolt in. Does anyone know if that tang is supposed to go into the slot and remain parallel to the bolt, or is it supposed to go into the slot and then turn as the bracket is pivoted to run the bolt into the mount? Are we supposed to "stake" the tang once it is through the slot to keep it on place?

Even with tightening the bolt down well, the split pieces of the D-shaped rubber bushing didn't come together, and I am wondering if we have the wrong bushing. Are there different diameter sway bars?

We'd sure appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Sway bar and bushing measurements

That sway bar measures from 23.0 to 23.5 mm, depending on which section of the bar I measure (it's a used F62 bar, and was painted this week). The split D-shaped bushings that are under the brackets that fasten the bar to the axle in two places are marked "5513 - 21 mm".

Rear FJ60 Sway Bar

I am restoring my 85 FJ60 and I had the rear springs re-arched and am fitting new shocks, etc. I just realized why the damn thing plows like a tractor through the turns--yup, NO rear stabilizer bar. Never had one, it seems. I do have the axle brackets and holes in the frame, so a used original style bar would be great to find. Sorry I am so late to this party, but if any of you know a source or have one, please give me a holler. :)

You can get one through toyota dealer or if you put up a wanted ad in the for sale section I'm sure you will be able to find a used one.

The FJ60's did not come with rear stabilizer bars in the US.
