Hey guys

It's been a while since I posted. I'm looking to replace my PS pump with a new OEM. I've been searching the threads to see if there's a discussion on everything that I'll need for this replacement, but I really haven't seen it. I'm not inclined to go the Saginaw route. Here's what my shopping list includes right now:
  • PS pump (44320-60071).....I believe this to be the correct one.
  • PS gasket kit (don't know the number)
What else do I need....besides tools and time? Should I look into replacing the belts, hose and high-pressure line while I am at it? Anything else? And how long should this process take?

Have no experience with the Saginaw conversion.
I replaced mine with an OEM unit awhile ago. The job is straight forward, basic tools, and I would replace the lines while you have everything apart, because why not. Lines are easily found trough NAPA or any number of places.
The hardest part with the OEM replacement is finding the pump. Not always easy to do anymore, and not cheap when you do find them. But someone may be able to point you towards one being held in reserve somewhere.

I should add if you do get an OEM replacement it likely won't come with a pulley, so you'll want to scavenge your old one. Mine came off pretty easily but I've heard they can be a PITA. The pulley is held in place on the shaft by a very small half-moon sliver of metal (a woodriff/woodruff/wood-something key). Be aware of that as you're sliding the pulley off and be ready to grab it. They can be hard to find once you've dropped them, and it ain't gonna work without it.
 
It's been awhile since I replaced mine, but I think all you need is the pump. You have the right part number for that. The gasket kit is for resealing an old pump. If you shop around, you should be able to find a new one for ~$375.

I wouldn't recommend going with a reman but if you do, be aware that you'll probably need to reuse your old reservoir. These are NLA, so don't lose yours.

Jesper has good advice to replace the hoses while you're at it. The low pressure oil cooler hoses will probably be "universal cut to fit". Make sure these hoses are the right diameter; if they're slightly too large it will be impossible to get a good seal. Leaky hoses can kill your smog pump (if you still have one).
 
Don't need the gasket kit.

Yes, replace lines. Add a Transmission microfilter in the return line LINK and use a synthetic trans fluid in the pump, that is Dextron compatible. I use Amsoil.

Use a new belt but DON'T OVER-TIGHTEN it. That really wears out the pumps faster.

It's a pain to get that one bolt out that's next to the exhaust horn. File the bolt head down for re-install. I believe there are some threads on this.
 
All good advice above. This is probably one of the more simple tasks you can do. I'll add just a few things. Have a copy of the FSM and follow the bleeding steps outlined.

For me, it was easier to remove the pump assembly from the bay by removing the bracket with the pump attached. You can then use an impact wrench to remove the pulley. Be careful about the key like @Jesper mentioned above. You'd have to fab a replacement if you lost it I think.

Be sure not to use regular PS fluid. The Toyota pump required ATF Dex III (IIRC). Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The FSM specifies to be sure.

Anyway, just put it back on the way it came off, refill, bleed and you'll be fine. Maybe an hour job if you haven't done it before. Two hours of you want to clean everything up and make it look pretty.
 
The woodruff key may still be available, 90280-05008. $2 or so.
