I've got a '87 FJ60 stock. I've removed the rotor and hub from the truck, I've removed the two 14mm bolts from the back of the rotor that appear to bolt the rotor and hub together. I can't get the hub and rotor apart. The studs for the lug nuts seem to go through the rotor and the hub but are they pressed into the rotor? Do I have to remove the studs before I can separate the rotor and hub? What's the trick here? I found several YouTube videos but they are for other years and they aren't the same.

Thanks,
Jabran

Hi, Once you get the rotor and hub off. Bang the studs out on a board with a brass hammer. Mike

Thanks Michael, I beat the h e double-hockey stick out of them with a brass drift and 3 lb sledge and they just popped right out, well sort of. Got them all out, now trying to find non-China rotors. Looks like Brembo's are an option but everyone posts about "Mountain" rotors but I can't find any sources online...

PartsGeek doesn't have Mountain rotors for an '87. Looks like those Mountain rotors are for FJ40 and FJ55. When I search for '87 all that comes up are Pronto, Centric & BeckArnley.

What are Beno? Is that short for Brembo or a different brand?

Does anyone know if the Brembo are made in China or not?

Beno is a member here onthe forums and works as a Toyota Parts Manager in one of the dealerships in Atlanta. He offers 25%off Discount to mud members (and free shipping when he can).

From what I remembe the rotors are the same from the FJ40/55/60/62 for years 80-90... But Spike Strip can confirm (pm him).

Yes, the rotors for the later 40s are the same, but I see partsgeek no longer lists them ... Anyway, the OE rotors from a discount dealer are just about the same price, around $60. Either those, or American-made Wagner, Delco, etc. Just stay away from Chinese-made stuff, no matter the brand.

Search for "Beno" user name and email or call him. His contact info is in his sig line. He may even see this and chime in.

And yes, the studs need to be pressed out/in or hammered. If you hammered them, make sure they're not buggered. No aftermarket replacements as good or fit as well as OE.

^^^ That was actually going to be my question, are there good aftermarket studs. So the answer is "kinda" no.

Are the OE studs still available? I have atleast one that was completely trashed by a Cruiser Corps lug nut.
