I am installing a 1987 FJ60 carb on my 79 2F and need help with the connections as they vary greatly from my 79 carb. The 79 2F is fully desmogged.

Does the 79 have a fuel return line? If so, what are you going to do without the return fitting on the carb?

I'm just curious, since I briefly entertained the idea of running an FJ60 carb on my 40.

A Idle Mix?
Yep.

B Advancer Port for dizzy?
Nope. Decel fuel cut port. connect to decel fuel cut switch.

C ? CAP
nope, ported vac to dissy.

D ? CAP
Yes, HAC is bad.

E ?
Choke hi-idle screw. Adjust to 1800-2000RPM w/ choke on, engine warm.

F ? CAP
G ? CAP
Yes, more HAC, cap em both.

H Choke Breaker, Leave hooked up as from factory
Yes.

I Choke Opener, CAP
Cap if it makes you happy. It's a vac sink, not a source, so doesn't need capped.

J ?
Base idle speed screw. Set to whatever you like w/ engine warm.

K Goes to Evap Cannister.
Yep. It's a good thing.

L AC Idle up, CAP as I don't have AC.
See I, above.

Be aware that the 81-87 carb is shorter, so won't seal up w/ the air cleaner lid properly.
And the choke cable end is different, so the stock 79 cable won't hook directly to the 81- choke arm.

Later, gotta get back to work.
