Guys....anyone have any problems with the P/s setup on a GM V8 swap..... I'm basically getting repetitive issues with hard to steer symptoms, and right now I have no other place to look at but the gear or the an adapter hose fittings at the gear.

Are there known solutions to swapping out the steering gear from OEM FJ60 to some other model truck gear? I know you can fabricate stuff and make all kinds of things work but anyone come across this issue. At present no obvious symptoms present themself...and since everything but the gear is new...is hard for me to think that the problem does not exist in the gear. I pasted a link from my post in the 60 section which goes into more detail.

Right now the only old parts respective to the ps are the gear itself and the two adapters I'm using on the gear to mate to -6 hose.

I know this is not super hard core...but some of the guys who have done a number of engine swaps might have some ideas...

Thanks..

well...we will see how it goes....get truck back tomorrow and based on that.. I may just have to swap the gear/box, as I don't think there are any issues with the pump setup.

Edit...False Alarm....P/S is working better then it ever has. Changed the ps pump and the entire configuration I had previously...gear remained. Anyway my buddy did the swap for me and I guess we may have has a little air in the system previously when I posted this. His shop is 130miles from me. So anyway p/s is working good for now..hated to waste the space and chasing my butt over something that turned out ok....

Anyway its a PSC pump setup with remote reservoir, an hose, and cooler.
