Specifically those that go in the two partial cut-outs under the HVAC controls and above the radio. The Auto's have an OD light that goes there, what other switches were used there?

I'm thinking it would be nice and tidy to use an OEM switch there to control the OBA if there is a suitable switch.

The only two things that Toyota put there (to my knowledge) was the Automatic Transmission Overdrive "OFF" light indicator (right side) and the Electric Antenna UP / DOWN switch (left side).

I am not sure if that is a Toyota standard switch size. If it is, you can just use other switches and turn them side-ways. I have never tried that personally.

Here's a picture of the setup in my truck. I have two switches for the electronic lockers and then one for the power up and down antenna.

You could maybe get a fog light switch and rub off the lettering and mark it as your own. I think it's the same size as the antenna switch. Something like this:

I wondered if that knock-out was the same size or not. The Defrost switch could work if I can figure out how to make it light up when the OBA system is Off (default will be On). I guess the same is true of the Fog light switch too except that I'd just need a separate indicator light..

The fog light switches light up as well!

Probably when they are on. I need it to light up when off. On will be the default, off will be for deep water crossings etc. as the compressor is mounted fairly low and there's not much that can be done to raise it's intake level. (And I owe my thread some pics of this.)
What I'll probably have to do is use an 87/87a relay so that switch off = OBA on, and switch on = OBA off.

Aren't those momentary? I've never had one ('84 manual, '88 Auto), so no experience with them.

The relay isn't a big deal to wire, though it is one more failure mode.

I don't think they're momentary. You click it once and the light turns off and you have some time to go and start it. You don't have to hold it when you start I don't think...it's been a while since I used one though it was in my 3rd gen 4Runner.

Sounds like it could be the switch that I need, but it also sounds like it could have some complexity that would make it not work in this application. I'll have to see if I can scare one up somewhere, and look at it.
