83 HJ60 Landcruiser Sahara

hey guys im 20 (21 in 3 weeks) and live in Perth Western Australia.

me and the old man got ourselves a little project this is my first 4x4 but he's had a few in the past

shes an 83 JDM HJ60 Landcruiser Sahara with an electric sun roof, factory mechanical winch couple of spotties bolted to a large bullbar and generous amount of rust a rough interior but a good donk and trans

luckily we manged to pick up a relativly rust free doner rolling shell which has all the panels we need which leaves us with a lot less rust to cut out.

and just while im introducing myself, bit off forum topic but....my two other rides (the white one is my daily shes an 03 vy berlina with 33 thousand kms, and the blue one is for the missus thats an 01 vx acclaim with 134 thousand kms)

Welcome to MUD, I wish we could get "old" cruisers like that here in the states. If you want to sell the pesky sliding rear side windows off of the donor body let me know.

My meager knowledge of Aussie vehicles(and Google) tells me those are Holdens, which I believe is a GM subsidiary. Which is also why you can see family lines in those vehicles to the Pontiac GTO, which is just a rebadged Holden.

Anyway, that FJ60 or HJ60 (you said both) high roof looks SWEET! I can't wait for more progress... and a good opportunity to swap those swing out back doors on that "Sahara!"

ah yeah shes a definatly HJ60 not sure why i wrote FJ60 after browsing the forum ive noticed there arent to many saharas around either ???

as for the sedans yes they are holden owned by GM & they are HUGE over here in australia topping the most sold car list every man and his dog either has a holden or cruiser or both !

as for the number plates on the white one yes i know everyone says 1COK ?? lol, got the car about a month ago havent gotten round to getting new plates

well i thought id post an update, the front end has been stripped ready for new panels, and the interior has been stripped also .

Hey, how come the Sahara doesn't have a FF rear axle ? Particularly if it's an HJ ??

And if you don't want those wheels, I'll trade ya for my chrome ones ....
