EDIT (01/26) After talking with a couple fellas who recently sold their FJ60s, and sending the 4.88 third members (were not installed yet) to a friend the vehicle and additional parts are as follows...
Have to sell my beast and move onto something a little easier to haul the kiddos in. It is priced under what I would part it out for ($$ => very solid 2F, good tranny, OME lift, good interior, 6 fresh tires, and axles turning those tires with ease). Won't part it out, don't have room to park it for that. It needs to be driven away to a loving home.
Asking $4300
This is a '83 FJ60 with 189K miles and a bunch of work done to it. Not a perfect one, but a great trail rig and has been very solid for me. I have done some work, some was done before me, and it does need a few things to make it tip top, so will now leave that to the next owner. Work has gone from front to back. It always starts, even in the -30 cold, and takes the worst roads with a smile.
It is my daily driver, and also a Wyoming trail rig. It serves it's purpose in the rural areas, but is rough around the edges and probably not a city queen. The rebuilt engine is strong! It carries me up mountain passes at 65 even with the 33s (at 65 mph it is running at 2400 rpm in 4th)
Many extra parts included that are basically free (not added to price, just take em!): an extra set of all four doors, hood, rear seat, window glass, radiator and original pre desmog stuff, front bumper, and a lot of interior stuff... like dash panel, trim, extra windows, I will update this list as I get into my garage and parts bins...
It does have rust in the rear, along the seams of the rear wheel wells. Not in the doors around wells yet, so that's a plus. Frame has spots with original paint, but also spots with surface rust. Maybe with all the good parts it can be a doner for a cleaner rig/buildup?
More pics available for details you might need. PM me, happy to get you info.
Work Done:
- Engine rebuilt at 175k, camshaft upgrade, desmogged, and weber carb added.
- '85 body and interior parts added (hood, fenders, doors, rear seat)
- Portions of frame POR-15 coated (rear most portion still needs it)
- OME 2.5" Heavy Lift
- 33x12.5 R15 Goodyear Duratracs with most of their life left (plus 2 full size spares brand new) = 6 tires!
- Electric fuel pump
- Exhaust Opened
- Fresh Shackles on front springs
- Is missing a stereo
- rear interior panels around wheel wells need to be sealed
- power steering pump is leaking
- fuel fill line has a leak, so I only fill tank to 1/2 (started leaking this winter in the deep cold)
- due for some fluids (oil and coolant)
- front birfs are good, but of course need felts and seals to be perfect
