Vintage Air. I just added it and my truck is running hot now. I had to move the radiator back closer to the fan to accommodate for the ac coil and my truck never had a shroud. hoping the shroud will get it under control. running between 215 and 225 with ac and pulling a trailer with a sxs, 20mph head wind nothing in my favor. had to pull over at one point climbed over 225 but cools off fast. I dont think i ever went much past 190 before no matter what i had on back or other conditions. worried about Texas heat in summer.stock a/c or non a/c? they are different
Are you thinking my fan clutch may not doing its job at higher RPM?Consider getting a brand new fan clutch. Barring that, IIRC @Mark W did a great write up on repacking the original clutch with new silicone for Toyota Trails...15 or 20 years ago!
Paul, was the lip on the AC shroud wider than on the non-AC shroud? I think I have one with a wide lip, whereas most I come across do not.
I wouldn't think those would be a wear item HA. I think I did replace the fan blade a few years back when I first got the truck but yes probably the original clutch. Do you have a shroud that will fit for my year model? '81. We have a sheet metal shop where I work and could probably fabricate one if I needed to. Thinking it should probably have a shroud anyway.40 year old part? Nah, why would I think that?
I’ve always made it a practice in my business to ask questions and do my best to sell somebody what they NEED, even if it isn’t what they asked for.![]()
