Anybody know of a good mechanic to work on 80's in northern VT? I recently purchased a 97lx450 and need someone to do some general work on it? I'm just moving so I don't have the time or setup right now to do the work myself.

I don't know of any Land Cruiser mechanics out here, except for Cruiser Solutions... and I don't think they have a great reputation. Try posting in the "Yankee Toys" area in the Clubhouses section. I bet you'll get some good responses there.

Do Not use. 4x4 Center in Burlington. Ask me how I know:flipoff2: I am in the same boat. a friend suggested a plan in Huntington, but I have not gotten there yet. I could dig up the name if needed.

Not northern VT, but there is an amazing Landcruiser mechanic in the woods of Southwest VT. iirc he goes by Poor Wally's Landcruiser Emporium. He has a hay farm and a bunch of rigs. Mostly he works with 40s tubs (with quality steel from mills in Albany), but he does very good work and fixed my 80. It's also a beautiful corner of New England and near Bennington Potters for xmas gifts.

@hamishpotter , thanks and I'll check him out. Might be worth the drive for a trustworthy mechanic!

@Mattyboy - sucks about the crappy experience and appreciate the word so I know to avoid them.

Seems like it's slim pickings for trusty mechanics from the searching I've done thus far.

I'm in Albany and have used landtank in Mass. for axle rebuilds etc for at least 10 years. Search him out here on mud. His name is Rick.
